Fantasy Player Interviews

INTERVIEW 34- 27th Aug 2010

Hi Erika ,

You have been chosen as Interviewee No 34 as manager of CBF Tigers 3 .

Start by telling us a bit about yourself and how you've come to join this now infamous group of Fantasy Footy addicts !

1 - What's the relevance of your team name CBF Tigers 3 ? -

CBF stands for Castle Bromwich Fund.  This is what the gang of hoodlums called themselves when I was growing up in Solihull.  Tigers comes from Leicester Tigers (the greatest rugby union team of all time) and 3 is added because this is my third year of doing this.

2 - Where do you expect to finish this season ? -

I think I finished 10th, although I was giving Mr Brown a run for his money at one point!

3 - What's your favourite meal ?

Well, its not really a meal, a can of coke, packet of Space Invaders and a Buttons yoghurt does me fine!!!  Cheap date me!

4 - What are some of your favourite TV Programmes ? -

I would like to say something high brow here but as I know Andrew reads this, I had better tell the truth.  I cannot get enough of Diagnosis Murder, Frasier and Murder, She Wrote.

5 - What's the 1st thing you notice about other people ? -

Whether they are alive or not.

6 - What footy Team do you support ? -

7 - Having recently moved to the North West of England what do you miss most about the Midlands ? -

I think the biggest thing I miss is that there were plenty of pubs which I could sit and read in.  Oh ... erm ... was I supposed to say my family and friends?  Oops!  Sorry Mom & Dad!

8 -   How long have you been in our league and how do you know the organiser CLIFF ?

As I have previously said, I have been in this league for 3 years now and have steadily increased my final standing each year.  I unfortunately met Cliff through my darling Andrew and their love of badminton ;)

9 - What's your pet hate ?

LATENESS!!!! With mobile phones, there is ABSOLUTELY NOOOOOOO reason why anyone should be late nowadays!!!!

10 -  If you were stuck alone on a desert island and granted 3 wishes by a genie what would they be ?

Erm ...  well surely the first wish would be to get off the island and back to civilization.  Although it does depend whether the wishes are restricted to just those on the island.

11 - You've just become Prime Minister , what would be your 1st Policy ? -

Take the money away from rich schools, their parents earn enough to pay for resources, and give the money to deprived areas and let the schools do what they want with the money instead of dictating what we should do with it.

12 - What's your favourite tipple ?

Well in Cyprus it was Bacardi Breezers, just because it was the most refreshing, normally its a good quality lager and a cheap bottle of plonk! (WHITE and DRY in case anyone wants to buy me a bottle ;))

13 -  What's your favourite past- time ?

Reading, watching crap TV and organising my fantasy football team (erm ... yeah right to the last one - I'm not Andrew or Steve!)

14 -  On the subject of Past-times your id on Words With Friends ( A game similar to Scrabble played on iPhones ) is Hooty Mc Boob ! What's that all about ? -

Hee hee!! Thats the mosst perfect ending to a Simpsons cartoon.  The one where he changes his name to Max Power.  At the end he changes his name back, but when he goes he changes Marge's name to Hooty McBoob, Titty LeRue and Busty StClair.  If I could change my name it would definitely be to Hooty McBoob!!!

15 -  If you were to emigrate , where would you go & why ?

I did have a great plan once to go to South Africa to watch the Rugby World Cup and then move to New Zealand (Southern Island).  They have a great education ethic.  I think if I did ever emigrate I would love to move to Samoa.  It has a police of about 10 officers because there isn't a need for them, they are a very simple, caring, and symbiotic lifestyle.  It would be perfect to live somewhere like that - plus the nice weather would help.

16 - Who's your favourite singer/ s , group/s ? -

Well I guess I would have to say Bluetones, but I also enjoy seeing Hanson live.  Being a junior school teacher I've got to know all of the latest bands and dance moves so that the kids don't ridicule me!

17 -- WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE?

A Double decker.

18 - I I understand your partner manages a team in this league . Does he give you much help & advice ?

Andrew and Steve have tried to give me their wonderful advice (I have NOOOO idea how they manage to finish so high) because everytime they tell me someone the person I've swapped them for does so much better so I'm not listening to them ever again.  PS When Andrew listens to me he actually does much better!

19 - If you could be an animal what would you be and why ? -

Hee hee my sister was asked this very same question at a recent job interview.  She said giraffe cuz she can do a great impression of one.  As for myself, I would have to say, something from Madagascar cuz they all seem really cool and there is very littlle civilization to destroy our habitats.

20 - Finally as mentioned before you moved up here from the Midlands . Now's your opportunity to sell the area to us as prospective tourists as we have players in this league from all over the UK and even parts of Europe ! -

Firstly the pubs are cool, not in a 'trying too hard' way, but in a 'laidback, stains on the carpet, local crowd' type style.  Think Cheers but with upholstery instead of wood.  The shops are cool and the town centre is really compact so it doesn't hurt your feet if you're wandering round all day.  There is lots of historical stuff too (the brains behind the Gunpowder plot came from Birmingham and Charles I hid out in Worcester) and obviously a brilliant football team!!! (Villa NOT Blues)  The people are polite but don't want to spend their day talking to you like they do up here, so its perfect if you want to do everything you came to do, but if your mission was to make friends, you're going to have to buy them a beer first!  Oh and obviously my friends and family live there, oh and its warmer than up here!!!!

Thanks Erica for telling us a little about yourself !
